Case Study: Create 10 New Profitable eCom Stores In 12 Months (Or Less)

We like a challenge and as a side project, we wanted to see if we could build 10 New Profitable eCom Stores In 12 Months – from scratch and build them to £10K profit per month.

There will be a lot to go through on this so rather than do a series of blog posts covering what we are doing, we will run this page as a weekly rundown of what we are doing and then go deeper on separate posts.

Our goal is to build 10 eCom stores to £10K profit per month within a 12-month period.

Our Approach & Limitations

So we thought it would be good to build 2 sites per month, then once one stage is done, the team can start on the next in the process – a conveyor belt of skills running through this challenge.

Now it’s important to note that we are doing this challenge in our spare time and have set the total outlay budget for £1K.

The whole purpose of doing this was to see if we could make a series of successful (profitable) eCom stores with a little budget so that it encourages others out there to do the same.

We also don’t want to piggyback off traffic from this blog so we will only share the sites once they have made at least £1K in profit (not revenue).

If there are any sites that fail then we will be sharing them here also. If we can see a 25% success rate, we will be happy with the result.

The same goes for any external agencies we get on onboard with the profit we make.

Everything will be shared.

The Good

The Bad

The Ugly

Start date: 13th March 2023

Week 1:

Now that we have our list, it was a case of brainstorming ideas for names. In the run-up, I thought this would have been the easiest part, but trying to come up with names that are relevant, memorable, have longevity, can build a brand with and can be associated with the niche is a little more difficult than expected.

The first attempt had a huge list of names but nothing seemed to work.

The first two brands/sites we would be concentrating on would be alcohol (a sub-niche that we will share later in the challenge) and a multi-vendor store for a city.
